Weekend Update

What a weekend it has been. Friday evening was our first Bhangra practice. We learned the beginning of our routine, and boy was it hard. I feel slightly more culturally diverse now though, learning about chaat and some sort of style of lamb. I'm quite excited for when we go out to dinner. I must say I very much enjoy Indian food. I can not say, however, that I enjoyed our practice. In the process of learning the dance, i happened to kick myself in the back of the leg, ripping my big right toe nail off. But that really wasn't the worst part. It was pulled and folded back, so at home i decided to cut it off. Apparently the fold gave it extra strength so when I started cutting it off, it snapped back onto my exposed toe. All I can say is OW.

Later that night after my toe numbed a little, I went out to dinner with vanessa at In-n-Out (cross country season's over!!). After enjoying our delicious burgers and fries, we went to sportsmart so Vanessa could get her secret sister gift.

Saturday was quite uneventful until the evening. Vanessa and I went out for dinner at Armadillo Willies, then went to see the play. I must say, I was very impressed by the performances. Their swordfighting was better than promised, and the acting was great.

Sunday I went out to dimsum with my family. I'm curious if this only happens to me, but every time I go out to dimsum, there's always one thing you want to order that they just don't have. And I always end up sitting there, watching the carts go by, waiting... And it's not even as if it's the same item everytime.

Anyways, afterward Vanessa and I went to Artopia to do some art projects. I painted a plane and vanessa painted an train. I'll post pictures of them when we get them back next weekend. (they need to be fired).

My day was completed with the cross country banquet. This is just a taste of how senior year is going to be. It was bittersweet being sent off. I've already touched on it in previous posts, but I've really fallen in love with cross country. I'll really miss it. An especially large thank you to Alex for giving me such a great speech, and all the juniors who made excellent speeches all around. It's sad leaving you guys, but I wish you guys the best of luck.

THE DIMSUM THING HAPPENS TO ME! So I just keep on eating, and then when the item finally arrives, I have to take it home. I'm glad you liked the banquet! The senior speeches were really great this year. :)
